4 1/2 Stars

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found. The world building was very good. The characterization was also quite good, with hero and heroine being complex individuals with strengths and weaknesses. The development of the romantic relationship was natural and organic. The plot and pacing were tight and exciting, meaning I read it in one sitting. There was a medium amount of well justified angst and high stakes, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Kidnapping trope, the Enemies to Lovers trope, and the Secret Baby trope. The world building, plot, and pacing were all four stars in this novel. the characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also five stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined score of four and a half stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to fans of well written sci-fi romance with alpha heroes. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases, and I plan to buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
