   ABOUT MY BOOKLIST

There are two booklists and a resources page here.  Each booklist is about two different but related passions that have improved my health and quality of life immeasurably.  I hope that these books can inform and help others as much as they have me, and I hope my resources page will give people a place to start to improve their health journey!

The information I have gleaned from the books under the "Healthy Eating" category have done amazing things for my health.  I no longer experience any of these symptoms due to my diet:

  • migraines

  • attacks of severe vertigo requiring use of a wheelchair

  • severe acne (my acne is completely gone)

  • severe digestive upset (I had a false diagnoses of first Irritable Bowel Syndrome and then Gastroparesis-nerve death in the intestines)

  • Severe high and low blood sugars multiple times per day (I am a Type 1 Diabetic)

  • Greatly reduced incidence of severe depression (I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder II)

  • Wight gain I seemed unable to stop or slow down no matter what I did (I have since lost 5O+ pounds)

  • I no longer experience constant hunger or food cravings

  • Greatly reduced excruciating pain and mood swings around my period (I have been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome)

I have a caveat to this-I also get regular chiropractic and acupunture treatments, as well as targeted supplementation and Chinese herbs.  I also am being treated by an MD homeopath. I would recommend anyone else also employ these or similar healthcare strategies in addition to diet and exercise to get the most significant improvement in their health.

My second booklist, listed under the "Tea" category, are books that have brought me so much knowledge and joy regarding one of my great passions; TEA!

I would recommend reading these books in the order they are listed from top to bottom.  I would especially recommend that people who are tea beginners start with The Tea Enthusiast's Handbook.  That book has the best and most easily understood instructions for preparing an excellent cup or pot of tea of any book I have read on the subject.  If you are already a tea enthusiast and know all the tea basics of storing dry leaf and preparing excellent tea, I would recommend starting with Tea: History, Terroirs, Varieties.  That book has excellent, easily understood descriptions of how each of the six classes of tea are processed.

Lastly, my "Resources" page lists specialists and health care providers that can hopefully really help people on their way to becoming the healthiest that they can become.  I could not have made the progress I have wihout the help of these people!

In closing, I hope these books and resources inform everyone and give a lot of help and enjoyment to those who take advantage of them!
