This novel was well written and edited, with few missing words or wrong word choices. I thoroughly enjoyed this romance. The world building was a vibrant character in itself, as usual with this author, but I enjoyed the hero of this novel much more than I did the hero of the second book in this series. The plot was better in this novel too, with the external and internal conflicts being more high stakes in this third book in the series than the second book in this series. The hero in this book immediately thought MINE! when he saw the heroine and claimed her right away, and a lot of the internal conflict of this story was that the hero had to convince the heroine that she should want to claim the hero as hers, too. This is one of my favorite tropes and internal angst setups for romance novels, so I was a very happy reader in that respect. There is nothing worse in a romance novel than a hero who is unwilling to go after what he really wants. The external stakes in this novel were really high too, with a potential rebellion by the heroine's home village maybe costing even more people's lives than had already been lost if the protagonists were not able to deescalate the situation. The heat level in this book was pretty low for a m/f omegaverse romance, with the only sexy scene happening about 90% into the novel. However, the sexy scene happened at the right time for this novel's plot and the protagonists' development of their romantic relationship. The plot and world building of this short romance rated four stars, and the internal angst, characterization, and development of the romantic relationship also rated four stars, for a combined score of four stars. This novel ends on a Happy Ever After ending, like the rest of this series, so that is a big plus for this novel. I highly recommend this novel to readers who enjoy m/f omegaverse romances and romances where the hero immediately declares MINE when he sees the heroine.
