4 Stars

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found. The world building of the caves was really vivid, which I enjoyed. The characterization was well done for such a short story, with both hero and heroine being sympathetic individuals. The development of the romantic relationship was sweet and heartfelt. The plot and pacing were tight, which meant that I read this novel in one sitting. There was little angst and very high stakes in this story, which I typically prefer in a romance novel. This novel used the Road Trip trope and the Forced Proximity trope. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were both four stars. The world building, plot, and pacing were all four stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that was a big plus. I recommend this story to fans of sci-fi romances that read like space opera. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases. I do not currently plan to buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
