The writing and editing of this novel great, with few if any typos that I caught in the ARC version. The world building of this novel was just as good as the previous novels in this series, with the alien village culture being richly and vibrantly drawn. The characterization in this novel was top-notch, with the heroine of this novel being a very different and distinct woman from the heroine of the previous novel in this series, and the hero also being a different type of character from the previous novel's hero. I will admit that I enjoyed the heroine of the previous novel in this series more, but that is because my favorite heroine type is dominant alpha heroines. The heroine of this novel was still a quite sympathetic character, and I am so glad that the author included a heroine with OCD in this series. I always like it when the heroine of a romance author is struggling with some form of mental illness. Yay representation! The development of the romantic relationship between the hero and heroine of this novel was natural, organic, and frankly, swoony. The plot and pacing was exciting and fast paced, with a lot of plot happening in this book and me rapidly turning pages because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. There are plenty of adventure elements in this book. The angst in this novel was high, but I did not find it irritating because the stakes in this novel were also very high. Unfortunately, the heroine in this novel really struggled with her self-worth, and that was hard to read. This novel uses the Mars Needs Women trope and the Fated Mates trope. The form of the Fated Mates trope used in this novel was my favorite form, which contains the aspect where one or both characters are fighting against fate. A delicious whiff of the Enemies to Lovers trope. The plot, pacing, characterization, and development of the romantic relationship rates between four to five stars, and the world building rates three stars, with a final rating of four stars. This novel ends on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that is a big plus to this series, and all this author's work that I have read so far. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy exciting sci-fi romances with more alien heroes. I will definitely be buying myself a keeper copy of this novel.
