4 Stars

This novel was written and edited cleanly, with no typos that I caught in the ARC version of this manuscript. I enjoyed this third novel in the series FAR more than I did the second novel in this series. I was quite relieved that this novel did not contain the problematic elements that the previous novel in this series did! The world building of Mars and the Martian society was interesting. The characterization was good, with both hero and heroine being sympathetic individuals. The development of the romantic relationship was organic considering the length of this romance. The plot and pacing was exciting, meaning I was turning pages quickly to find out what was going to happen next. There was medium angst in this novel and high stakes. I was able to enjoy the angst in this novel because it was set up by essential plot elements and was well justified on the part of the heroine. I tend to prefer high stakes in all my romance novels, so I enjoyed that aspect of this novel. This novel used the Mars Needs Women trope, the Partner in Trouble trope, and the Mail Order Bride trope. The world building, plot, and pacing all rated four stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship also rated four stars. The combined score of this novel is therefore four stars. This novel ends on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that is a big plus to this whole series. I recommend this sci-fi romance to readers who enjoy the intergalactic Mail Order Bride trope found in so many sci-fi romances. I do not plan to buy myself a keeper copy of this novel, though I did enjoy it quite a bit.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
