The writing and editing of this novel was bad enough in the ARC version to really detract from my enjoyment in the reading experience. I probably would have given this story four stars except for the author's habit of switching between first person and third person within the same sentence all throughout the manuscript. The world building was minimal but well drawn. The characterization was quite good, with both hero and heroine being complex, sympathetic individuals. The development of the romantic relationship was cute, with some irritating failure to communicate sections. The slow pace and lack of action elements in the plot was an interesting authorial choice considering the hero works for a vigilante, alien fighting, superhero team. I found that really interesting. There was medium angst, and low stakes, which I do not typically enjoy in a romance novel. This novel used the I Cannot Have Both a Career and a Love Life trope. The world building was four stars. The plot and pacing was three stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship was four stars. However, the multiple editing mistakes per page meant that I gave this novel a combined rating of three stars. This novel had a Happy For Now ending. I was disappointed that these characters did not establish the Mating Bond before the story ended. That is one of my favorite parts of omegaverse romances, and it always disappoints me if the author does not include it. If the editing problems are fixed in the retail version, I would recommend this story to fans of omegaverse romance. I think I would like to read the next novel in this series. I will not be buying myself a keeper copy of this novel, because of the editing mistakes.
