5 Stars
The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos and excellent sentence structure. The world building was vibrant, with these magical races and Megaverse Earth coming to vivid life. The characterization was excellent, with both hero and heroine being complex, nuanced individuals with strengths and weaknesses. The development of the romantic relationship was hot and organic. The plot and pacing were tight and exciting, with great fight scenes. There was a medium amount of well justified angst and very high stakes in this story, which is one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Heat trope and the Badass Heroine trope. The world building, plot, and pacing were all five stars in this novel. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also five stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of five stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy excellent world building and exciting fight scenes in their paranormal romances. I look forward to reading the next novel in this series when it releases, and I may go back and buy myself keeper copies of this whole series.
