4 Stars

Another fun omegaverse romance by Lizzy Bequin, this one set in a different alternate Earth than her first m/f omegaverse trilogy. This novel had well done world building, with the zone being a vibrant character in itself. The characterization of the heroine and three heroes was competently done, with all four protagonists being sympathetic characters. The development of the romance between the heroine and the three heroes was the least well developed aspect of this story, but that could partly be because there was so much high stakes danger and exciting plot happening in this book that there wasn't as much room for the slower pace typically required for the process of showing characters falling in love. Also, reverse harem romances are very demanding for an author to write well, with there typically being four or more protagonists falling in love. This romance used the Woman Shortage trope, in addition to a variation on the Fated Mates trope, with less Fate and more Mating Bond at play. This novel had low angst and sky high stakes, which I typically enjoy as the narrative structure in a romance novel. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy reverse harem romances or m/f omegaverse romances. I will probably be buying myself a keeper copy of this novel.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
