4 Stars

The writing and editing of this manuscript was fairly clean in the ARC version, with occasional typos that did not detract too much from the reading experience. Hopefully they will be fixed in the retail version. The world building was minimal in this installment, but that may partially be a function of the fact that this is a well established universe. The characterization was okay, with the heroine being more vibrant than the hero but both of them being sympathetic individuals. The development of the romantic relationship was good, with more emphasis put on the sexual relationship, but these two characters still falling in love. It was an insta-love situation on the part of the hero. The plot and pacing was exciting, with me turning pages quickly. There was a medium amount of angst on the part of the heroine and high stakes throughout, so I enjoyed it. This novel used the Daddy trope and the Fated Mates trope and included BDSM elements. The world building was three stars. The plot and pacing were four stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were four stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined score of four stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that is a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who like sci-fi romances with insta-love and BDSM elements. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases, and I may buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
