The writing and editing of the ARC version of this manuscript was clean, with few if any typos that I found. The world building was vibrant. The characterization was good, with both hero and heroine being sympathetic individuals. The development of the romantic relationship was secondary to the development of the sexual relationship, but it was still heartfelt. The plot and pacing was exciting and fast-paced. There was little angst in this story and very high stakes, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Breeder trope so common to sci-fi romance. The world building, plot and pacing all rated four stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also four stars. The sexy times were also four stars. The combined score of this novel was therefore four stars. The novel ended on a Happy Ever After instead of a cliffhanger, so that was a big plus. I will look forward to reading Lizzy Bequin's next novel, based on how I enjoyed this one. I will probably buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.
