4 Stars

The writing and editing in this novel was clean, with only occasional typos that I found in the ARC version of this manuscript. The world building in this novel was competent, with me the reader getting a good picture of vampire society. The characterization was good, with both hero and heroine being vibrant, sympathetic individuals. The development of the romantic relationship happened organically. The plot and pacing was exciting, with me turning the pages quickly to find out what was going to happen next. There was low angst and high stakes in this story, which is one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Partner in Trouble trope and the Forced Proximity trope. The sexy scenes were quite spicy and enjoyable, with plenty of kink play. The world building, plot, and pacing was four stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship was four stars. Therefore, the combined score of this novel was four stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that is a big plus to this story. I recommend this story to readers who enjoy BDSM elements in their paranormal romances, and paranormal romances which have romantic suspense elements. I do not plan to buy myself a keeper copy of this novel, though I did enjoy it.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
