4 Star

The writing and editing of this novel was super clean in the ARC version of this manuscript, exhibiting few typos that I could discern. The world building was great, just like the previous books in this series. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series so far. The characterization was great, with both the hero and heroine being flawed, sympathetic individuals. The development of the romantic relationship was natural and organic. The plot and pacing was quite exciting, with me turning the pages so quickly to find out what was going to happen next that they were smoking! This novel contained a medium amount of angst on the heroine's part because of her trauma with her mother, but the stakes were very high, which I prefer, and I was able to enjoy the angst somewhat. This novel used the Mars Needs Women trope, the Fated Mates trope, and the Breeder trope used in some sci-fi romances. I enjoy all those tropes. The world building, plot, and pacing were all four stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also four stars. The combined score of this novel was therefore four stars. This novel had a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that is a big plus to this novel. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy sci-fi romances with fast pacing. I will be buying myself a keeper copy of this novel, for sure. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
