3 Stars
The writing and editing of this novel was fairly good, with only occasional typos that I found in the ARC version of this manuscript. The world building of this futuristic world was okay. The description of this novel was a little misleading, because I was expecting an erotic romance novel by the blurb, and this story was definitely erotica, not romance. The characterization was a little flat. The development of the romantic relationship was all right up until the end, when it went down in flames. The plot and pacing was all right, though I struggled a little getting through this novel. This novel had low angst and medium stakes. I did not notice any common romance novel tropes here, probably because this was not a romance novel. The plot, pacing, and world building were three stars. The characterization was two stars, and the development of the romantic relationship was one star. The clean writing was four stars. Therefore, the combined score of this novel was three stars. This story did not end on a Happy Ever After ending. The romantic relationship ended badly, which is a huge con for this story, in my opinion. I recommend this story to readers looking for erotica, not readers looking for erotic romance which ends on an HEA. I do not plan to buy myself a keeper copy of this novel. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
