The writing and editing of this story was fairly clean, with occasional typos in the ARC version of the manuscript. Hopefully those will be corrected in the retail version. The world building was good, with the Omega Market being well described. The characterization was pretty well done, with both hero and heroine being sympathetic individuals. I liked this second book in the series much more than the first book! The heroine and her strength and perseverance really won me over in this one. It was very heartfelt. The development of the romantic relationship in this second novel was far more compelling than in the first novel in the series, also. The plot and pacing was a little slower, with this novel being more about internal conflict. There was not as much adventure or an evil villain in this one. There was a medium amount of angst and fairly low stakes in this novel, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. This novel used the Soldier Hero trope and the Abused Heroine trope, in addition to the Mating Bond trope. The world building was three stars. The plot and pacing was four stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also four stars. I gave this novel a combined score of four stars. This novel ends on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that is a plus. I recommend this story to fans of sci-fi romance or m/f omegaverse romance. I will want to read the next book in this series, since I liked it so much more than the first book in the series. I will probably buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
