The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was fairly clean, with only occasional typos that I found. The world building was super minimal, which was disappointing. The characterization was also minimal. The development of the romantic relationship was quick and sweet. The plot and pacing was quick, meaning I read this novella in one sitting. There was low angst and low stakes in this romance, which tends not to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a story. This novella used the Fated Mates trope. The world building, plot and pacing were three stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also three stars. I therefore gave this novella a combined rating of three stars. This novella ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that was a plus. I don't recommend this holiday novella to other readers, because I have read much better paranormal Halloween novellas by other authors. I am not interested in reading the next book in this series, and I will not be buying a keeper copy of this novella.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
