This novel was fairly cleanly written and edited, with not too many typos in the ARC version of this manuscript. The world building was one of the strengths of this novel, with the dragon aliens' home world and the palace being vibrantly described. The characterization was somewhat clunky with neither hero or heroine being vibrant, well drawn individuals. The development of the romantic relationship was fairly good, with the hero seeing the heroine and immediately saying, "MINE!" That tends to be my favorite hero type in a romance novel. The plot and pacing were fairly exciting, with me the reader rapidly turning pages to see what was going to happen next. The sexy times in this novel were somewhat awkward, and some of the author's terminology about body parts made me internally cringe. There was a lot of angst in this novel on the heroine's part, but it was about her mother abandoning her as a child as opposed to being caused by the high stakes of plot setup of this novel, so that was a missed opportunity that meant I did not enjoy the angst. There were high stakes in this novel, so I enjoyed that. This novel uses the Royal trope and the Mars Needs Women trope. The world building, plot, and pacing all rated three stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship also rated three stars. Therefore, the combined score of this romance novel was three stars. This novel had a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, sot that is a big plus for this novel. I recommend that readers who enjoy alien sci-fi romances try this novel on Kindle Unlimited. I do not plan to buy myself a keeper copy of this novel. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
