4 Stars

The writing and editing of the ARC version oof the manuscript was fairly clean, with occasional typos but not enough to detract form the overall reading experience. The world building was competent, with frontier Mars coming to fairly vivid life. The characterization of the heroine and two heroes was okay, with these characters being sympathetic if not especially nuanced. The development of the romantic relationship was hot. Five chili peppers. The plot and pacing were tight and exciting, meaning I read this novel in one sitting. There was low angst and high stakes in this novel, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. There was the Fated Mates trope, the Mail-Order Bride trope, the Partner in Trouble trope, and the Older Men Younger Woman trope in this romance novel. The world building, plot, and pacing were four stars in this novel. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also four stars in this story. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel ends on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that is a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy hot sci-fi menage romances. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases. If the next book is as good as this one, I may buy keeper copies of the whole series.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
