4 Stars
The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with few if any typos that I caught. The world building was competent, with the Court of Command coming to vivid life. The characterization was okay, with the heroine and hero not being especially vivid in my mind. The development of the romantic relationship was natural and organic, with a bit of the Fated Mates element. The plot and pacing were tight and exciting, meaning I read the novel in one sitting. There was low angst and high stakes in this novel, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Fated Mates trope and the Enemies to Lovers trope. The world building, plot, and pacing were all four stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also four stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy paranormal romances featuring angels and demons. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases, though I do not think I will buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.
