The writing and editing was fairly clean in the ARC version of this manuscript, with me not catching many typos. The world building was competent, with the convent planet being more thoroughly explored in this third novel in the series. Readers new to this series should be able to start with this novel no problem and not get lost. The characterization was competent, with both hero and heroine being sympathetic individuals. The development of the romantic relationship happened naturally, especially considering how short this story was. The plot and pacing was exciting, with me turning pages quickly to find out what was going to happen next. There was a medium amount of angst in this story, but it was well justified by the plot and these characters' history, so I was able to enjoy it. There were high stakes in this story, which I typically prefer in my romance novels. This novel used the Mating Bond trope common to most omegaverse romances. It also used the Partner in Trouble trope. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship was four stars in this novel. The plot, pacing, and world building were also four stars. The combined score of this novel was therefore four stars. This novel had a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, which is a big plus to this whole series, especially considering that a lot of m/f omegaverse romances are trilogies with cliffhangers, unfortunately. I recommend this series to readers who enjoy m/f omegaverse romances or this author's other sci-fi romances. I plan to buy myself a keeper copy of this whole series, since I have enjoyed all three novels in the series so far.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
