4 Stars

The writing and editing of this sci-fi romance was clean, with no typos that I found in the ARC version of the manuscript. The world building was vivid and vibrant. The characterization was well done, with hero and heroine being individuals with both strengths and weaknesses. The development of the romantic relationship was natural and organic. The plot and pacing was exciting. There was a medium amount of angst on the hero's part that I did not particularly enjoy reading, but the stakes were high so I still enjoyed the novel. This novel used the Alien Abduction trope common to sci-fi romance novels. The world building, plot and pacing were all four stars. The characterization and the development of the romantic relationship also rated four stars. The combined score for this novel is therefore four stars. This novel ends on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that is a big plus. I recommend this novel to fans of sci-fi romance which use the Alien Abduction trope. I will probably read the next book in the series, though I do not plan to buy myself a keeper copy of this book, at least at this time.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
