4 Stars
I am reviewing the story "Alpha Blue" by Teigan Clyne. The writing and editing was clean in the ARC version of the manuscript, with no typos that I found. The world building was minimal, because the story was very short. The characterization was well done, with the heroine being a sympathetic character. The development of the romantic relationship was short and minimal, but this story was more on the erotica side than the romance side. The plot and pacing were tight and quick, so I read this story really quickly. There was low angst and high stakes, which I typically prefer. This story used the Alien Abduction trope and the Reverse Harem trope. The world building, plot and pacing were all four stars. The characterization was four stars. The development of the romantic relationship was three stars. This story had an abrupt cliffhanger ending, so that was a big minus. I recommend this story to readers who enjoy sci-fi erotica. I will not read anything else written by this author, though it was well written. I will not buy myself a keeper copy of this story.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
